Interested in weed, but not quite sure how to enjoy it?

We’ve got you covered.

Cannabis enjoyment is no longer just a secret pastime or only for those with a medical card. With recreational marijuana legal in 18 states, Washington, D.C., and Guam, many of us are discovering the different forms of cannabis and how to enjoy it.

Looking for a quick breakdown of our favorites? Keep reading for what we recommend.

1. Cannabis Distillate

Cannabis distillate is a highly concentrated cannabis extract. This process involves heating and cooling to refine the concentrate into a honey-like consistency. This is an extremely pure form of cannabis, which allows you to use less product while still maintaining an extremely accurate dose.

Unlike other forms of cannabis, distillate is nearly 100% THC. To use, vaporize the distillate THC and inhale the vapors. You can also use a vape pen as long as they reach the correct temperature.

If you’d rather use the distillate to heighten your pipe or bong experience, add a drop to the cannabis flower.

2. Cannabis Beauty Products and Topicals

If you’re looking for localized effects, cannabis topicals and cannabis-infused beauty products are for you. Topicals are cannabis-infused products that include:

  • Lotions
  • Balms
  • Sprays
  • Transdermal patches
  • Skin salves

Remember– THC topicals won’t provide a “high” or intoxicating effect.

3. Forms of Cannabis Oil

Cannabis oil or cannabis oil extract is made by extracting cannabinoids from a cannabis plant and diluting it with a carrier oil (usually hemp seed oil or coconut oil).

These products are usually consumed with the use of a dropper to measure out your preferred dosage. Simply place the dropper under your tongue, wait for it to absorb (usually 30 seconds to five minutes), and swallow. You’ll feel the benefits within minutes.

4. Cannabis Edibles

Edibles are food or drinks that are made with a cannabis flower or cannabis concentrate infusion. Popular forms of edibles include:

  • Baked goods
  • Popcorn
  • Chocolate bars
  • Cooking oils and butter
  • Mints
  • Gummies
  • Carbonated drinks, teas, and juices

Keep in mind that because of how edibles are ingested, they can take anywhere from twenty minutes to three hours to notice the effects.

5. Cannabis Concentrates

Cannabis concentrates contain the most desirable components of the cannabis plant: cannabinoids and terpenes. This makes for a higher proportion of these plant compounds than if you were to purchase traditional cannabis flowers.

Cannabis concentrates also come in their own variety of forms:

  • Kief – sprinkle on cannabis flower to increase potency
  • Vaping concentrate
  • Vaporize on a dab rig

Because of the potency of cannabis concentrate, expect a little to go a long way.

Enjoy Responsibly

Remember– enjoy all forms of cannabis responsibly and per state guidelines. Your local legal cannabis distributor can provide recommendations if you’re wondering what might be the best form for your needs.
