Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, was born on 22 May 1987 in Karachi. Saifi is his nickname, and he played his first ODI on 18 November 2007 against India. The right-handed batsman has represented Pakistan in 49 Tests, 117 ODIs, and 61 T20s.
Sarfaraz came under the limelight when he scored 49 runs on 49 balls against a crucial match against South Africa at ICC 2015 Cricket World Cup. The wicket-keeper batsman took six important catches in the same encounter and was named as player of the match.
In the very next match against Ireland, Sarfaraz scored a brilliant hundred and played a vital role in taking Pakistan to the Quarterfinals. Due to his brilliant all-around performances, PCB decided to appoint him as the Captain of Pakistan’s ODI & T20 team.
The biggest achievement of Sarfaraz Ahmad in his entire career is that he has won the Champions Trophy for Pakistan in 2017. Under his captaincy, Pakistan defeated India with a big margin with help of Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Amir.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s PSL career is just amazing so far. He is the Captain of Quetta Gladiators, and under his captaincy, QG won the PSL in 2019. He has led his team to the final three times. Unfortunately, two times they ended up as Runners-up.
